The Research of Temperature Collection System Based on Power Line Communication
Along with the rapid development of economy in China, the government has raised energy saving to the level of strategy and general situation. While analyzing and appraising the efficiency, environmental temperature is considered to be an important fundamental information, especially when air conditioning and refrigerating in summer and heating season in winter. As government strengthen the supervision over indoor temperature, it is more and more urgent to develop a temperature measurement system which can be on-line real-time to monitor indoor temperature. Considering the performance requirements and the complexity of construction, realizability, cost requirement, etc, we finally decide to implement system by transmitting data over low voltage power line network. Power line communication (referred as PLC) technology is a kind of communication method that multimedia signal such as data, voice, image, etc, is transmitted over power line. Studying on the technology is important to use the power line network resource sufficiently to carry data transmission, and also to speed up informatization in China.At first, the paper gives a general introduction to PLC, including classification, development history and present situation. Subsequently, it gives an analysis on the channel characteristics of power line carrier including impedance characteristic, channel noise and signal attenuation; and also proposed solving scheme to the problem Especially, according to the working features of the system, expending the coverage area is necessary, so a few relaying technologies are introduced. Base on the fundamental theoretical analyses above, a system resolution is proposed to design and implement the temperature collecting system transmitting temperature data over power line carrier, which uses PLC module integrated IT800Y, a chip of YITRAN Communications Ltd in Israel. Besides the function of transmitting temperature data over power line, the system also realizes the function of automatic routing and relay, which expends the coverage area. The main part of the paper gives overall introduction to the system design scheme, then further detailed description from two aspects: hardware and software. The hardware part introduces the function and implementation of different hardware modules and circuit unit; the software part tells the main structure and the work flow, with detailed description of the algorithm and the communication protocol. The test result of the function is shown in the test part, some main performance index is also preferred. The paper ends of future applicationprospect of the system.
