With the high-speed development of information technology, many libraries have set up their own websites on the Interne, to provide users with network-based information services. The website of Library is an important manifestation of the level of the network. The quality of the website is also deeply affecting the level of library services. Although most libraries have established their own websites, because of various reasons, the quality is uneven. How to evaluate the quality of library website is a very important issue.This paper analyzes the significance of the library website establishment and the necessity of the library website evaluation, summarizes the researches of the library website evaluation in domestic and abroad, and points out the significance of the provincial public library website evaluation. On this basis the author investigates the present situation of the provincial public library websites In the course of investigating the author uses many methods, such as expert’s survey, users’survey, digital reference, and web metrics. Chapter III of this thesis is also the keystone and the innovative point. According to the characteristics of provincial public website and the present situation of the Public Library website establishment, the author makes sure the total target of the website evaluation first, and then builds the total form of the evaluation system, next the author draws up AHP, which adopt to calculate the index proportion in this thesis, and makes certain the proportion number of the evaluation index using this method. According the investigation, we calculate the scores of all the websites, and point out the problems of the provincial public library websites, and then give some corresponding measures.
