Research of Remote Measurement and Control System Based on LabVIEW

Abstract:

The higher level the automatic equipment of oil is, the higher the output and quality are. In other words, the efficiency and the quality of the products can be improved, and the cost can be cut down by making use of automatic equipments in oil factory. This paper is completed based on the project that deals with the system of LiaoWei in the oil factory of Olyst in WuHan. A set of soft, which adopts visual instruments and the technology of remote measurement and control instead of traditional instrument and the spot measurement and control, is put forward according to the special environment in the department of oil.The conception of Visual Instruments and LabVIEW which is used to develop visual instruments are described at first. It introduces types of data, the structures of the program, and so on in LabVIEW. The Waveform data and DataSocket which can realize real-time communication are marked characters of LabVIEW.Some normal net topological structures are introduced and the way of visual instruments communicating is researched at first. A web server is built with IIS provided by Microsoft Corporation. Browse/Server and Client/Server is explain at some length. They are two kinds of structure of network, they are used in diffirent situations according to the request and envirment. Compared Browse/Server with Client/Server, the structure of Browse/Server is proved to be more reasonable to be adopted in the project. The mode of Browse/Server is used in WAN; it supports more clients and is more flexible in developing at web server. What the clients need is Internet Explore. At last, the program at server can be modified easily and be cycled.Three kinds of communication provided in LabVIEW such as TCP/IP, UDP and DataSocket Server is researched then. the method of DataSocket Server is used to realize remote measurement and control. Unfortunnitly DataSocket Server is usually used in structure of Client/Server. this problem could be solved with the technolog of ActiveX. ActiveX can be developed with Visual Basic. It also can be embedded in Internet Explore, so as to realize remote measurement and control system in mode of Browse/Server based on Internet.Visual Basic is famous for its graph user interface, and it is very easy to creat ActiveX with Visual Basic. LabVIEW has great advantages in data acquainting, data display as well as date processing. In the last, with the help of the achievements both in domestic and international above visual instruments, a set of remote measurement and control soft, which has advantages of mult-funcitons, simple operation, friendly interface and good compatibility, is designs for the oil factory making use of both ActiveX created in Visual Basic and the technoloty of DataSocket communicating in LabVIEW. It shows that the soft can be run successfully, and it do realize automatic control in the oil factory.
